EMDR isn’t magic, and it’s not a quick fix, but for many people, it’s a powerful way to work through trauma and emotional distress.
Here’s what to expect:
• EMDR is a structured eight-phase therapy approach
• It’s been around for nearly 50 years and is backed by growing research
• The part most people recognise, eye movements, is just one phase (Phase 4)
• Before that, we’ll do a full assessment to ensure it’s right and safe for you
• We’ll explore what’s troubling you and what you want life to look like moving forward
• Using bilateral stimulation (usually eye movements), we’ll begin to gently process what’s stuck
• We’ll go at your pace, only as far as feels safe and helpful
• We’ll wrap up with support and suggestions to help you move forward with clarity
EMDR isn’t for everyone, but for many, it brings real relief when other approaches haven’t helped.
🌀 Maybe now is the time to focus on your mental wellbeing.
