✨ EMDR Therapy

I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) to help address trauma-related issues, especially for people who feel ‘stuck’ or overwhelmed by past experiences.

🧠 How Does EMDR Work?

While the exact science is still emerging, EMDR is believed to help the brain process traumatic memories more effectively. By using guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation,

EMDR allows you to access and reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional intensity and helping you move forward.

Many people find EMDR effective for symptoms like:

Panic attacks

Flashbacks

PTSD

Childhood trauma

Anxiety linked to specific events

💭 What You Should Know About EMDR

EMDR isn’t magic, and it’s not a quick fix, but for many people, it’s a powerful way to work through trauma and emotional distress.

Here’s what to expect:

EMDR is a structured eight-phase therapy approach

It’s been around for nearly 50 years and is backed by growing research

The part most people recognise, eye movements, is just one phase (Phase 4)

Before that, we’ll do a full assessment to ensure it’s right and safe for you

We’ll explore what’s troubling you and what you want life to look like moving forward

Using bilateral stimulation (usually eye movements), we’ll begin to gently process what’s stuck

We’ll go at your pace, only as far as feels safe and helpful

We’ll wrap up with support and suggestions to help you move forward with clarity

EMDR isn’t for everyone, but for many, it brings real relief when other approaches haven’t helped.

🌀 Maybe now is the time to focus on your mental wellbeing.
